Emilee & Michael’s story is a little different than most…

Both grew up in the small town of Mondamin. Michael was a few years ahead in school, but they always knew of each other. Their moms taught together, their dads farmed nearby, and—only later—Emilee discovered that her great-grandparents used to travel with Michael’s grandparents. Life had a way of keeping their paths close, even before they officially crossed.

After college, Emilee returned home to start her cattle herd, and around the same time, Michael moved into the house next to where she grew up. Over the years, their friendship grew stronger—fueled by many "Hey Emilee, your cows are in my yard" phone calls. (She still thinks he may have let them out on purpose... just to see her again.) Countless hours were spent trying to find that one elusive “hole in the fence”—and maybe, just maybe, falling for each other a little more each time.

Eventually, the best friendships turn into the best relationships. They took a chance and never looked back. Michael is the calm to Emilee’s energy, and she brings out the adventurous side in him. When people ask how they met, Michael still calls her “the neighbor girl,” while Emilee proudly calls him her “cow wrangler.”

Together, they share a love for agriculture, hard work, and life on the farm. Whether it’s building fence, checking cows in the Ranger, or Emilee riding shotgun in the tractor, it’s the time spent side by side that means the most.

They’re so excited to celebrate their love with you—and to begin the next chapter as husband and wife!
