Things to Do

We know that many of you are traveling from outside of Oregon and we want to share some of our favorite things to do in the Columbia River Gorge and Portland!

Multnomah Falls

50000 Historic Columbia River Hwy, Bridal Veil, OR 97010, USA
(503) 695-2372

The longest free-falling waterfall in the contiguous US, Multnomah Falls is a breathtaking site. It's an easy walk up to the falls and bridge with a more intense hike climbing up the 5.4 miles to the top of the falls, if you can do it and have the right shoes its well worth the view! You'll pass the falls on your way to Hood River, so its worth a stop!

The Oregon Outdoors

Picture of The Oregon Outdoors

Whether you stay in the Columbia River Gorge, Head to Mt. Hood, or stay in Portland, August is just about the best month in Oregon to explore its outdoors!

Hood River, Oregon

There are endless hikes and bike trails in the Columbia River Gorge. Some take you up to see a wide view of the Columbia while others will have you winding behind waterfalls. Hood River is also excellent for water sports, particularly windsurfing, kayaking, and fishing.

Portland, OR

Downtown Portland, has amazing restaurants (We recommend trying St. Jacks!), coffee shops, and local businesses. Stop by Powell's Books to see what is literally a city block of books, or explore its outdoor areas: the Willamette River Waterfront sports a great farmers market on the weekend, Washington Park hosts both the Portland Rose Garden and the Japanese Gardens as well as a myriad of hikes that will make you forget you are in a city!

Mt. Hood

While it won't be ski season Mt. Hood hosts amazing hikes with stunning views. Our favorite is Mirror Lake! If your looking for something more fast-paced pace try the Alpine Skide at Ski Bowl!
