Matt and Emilia’s paths crossed on Hinge, a dating app where connection seemed like a fleeting possibility. But there was something different about their first conversation. Their messages flowed easily, filled with humor and curiosity, like two puzzle pieces finding their fit. Emilia’s bright personality shone through her words, and Matt’s easy confidence was a breath of fresh air. By the time February rolled around, they agreed to meet in person. The distance between them—an hour and a half drive—didn’t keep them apart. They made time for movies, dinners, and little adventures. One particularly memorable day was when Matt brought Emilia to a public garden that held deep meaning to him. It was a quiet test for Matt, but Emilia didn’t just enjoy the garden—she made the moment unforgettable. The highlight? A sweet, quirky song made up on the spot by an older gentleman for Emilia, which Matt captured on video. Another favorite memory was when they spent an entire day walking through Meyer Park. Despite Matt ending the day sunburnt, it was one of the happiest days of his life—the day he knew Emilia was the one. From there, their bond only grew stronger, filled with shared passions like concerts, exploring new places, and simply enjoying each other’s company. Then, in June of 2024, Matt decided it was time for the next chapter of their love story. At an Astros game, nervous excitement kept him from focusing on the game. Finally, he asked Emilia to take a walk with him to the iconic gas pump at Minute Maid Park. With the help of a stranger taking their photo, Matt dropped to one knee and asked Emilia to be his forever. Her “yes” lit up the moment more than the stadium lights ever could. From the moment they first matched on Hinge to that unforgettable proposal, Matt and Emilia’s love story is one of connection, joy, and partnership.
