Travel Recommendations

By Air

There are two airports you can choose from to travel to our wedding: 1) Logan International Airport (BOS) or 2) Portland International Jetport (PWM).*** Please note: Portland MAINE, not Portland, Oregon! For those traveling from Canada, your option is likely limited to BOS (but don't worry, there are better flight options/rates in and out of BOS). So, once you fly into Boston, what are your options?1) Bus from Boston to Portland-&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="https://concordcoachlines.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Concord Coach Lines</a>You can take a bus directly from the Logan Airport to Portland for $30/person. It is a great and easy resource to use. We recommend buying your ticket online prior to arriving to Logan. Please note that bus ticket does not guarantee a seat on the bus, so make sure you get to the busing area early. Alternatively, if you miss the first bus, your ticket would cover the next one, as long as it is the same day. 2) rent a car (good for if you want to be able to freely explore more of Maine/New England on your own). You can also take the bus to Portland and rent a car there (you may be able to get a better rate and avoid some Boston traffic). I’m in Portland, now what?If you are planning to stay in Portland for the weekend, you’ve made it! If you want to have an adventurous weekend camping under the stars at Caswell Farm, then we will work to coordinate car pooling from Portland to Gray.

Whether you want to carpool with some friends or travel with your kids and dogs, we've got you covered! From NL:-&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Ferry (Marine Atlantic)-&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;We recommend booking early-&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;It takes approximately 11 hours to drive from the North Sydney Ferry Terminal to Grey, Maine. From elsewhere in Canada/US:-&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;To provide reference: Gray Maine is roughly a 25-30 minute drive from Portland, Maine.

To rent a car or not to rent a car?

You will be able to enjoy many attractions and wedding activities without a vehicle. We will arrange for a shuttle from a central location near guest hotels to and from the venue in Gray. Uber is also available in the area and Portland has public buses.

Travel and Accomodations

Camping

If you love camping as much as we do (or just want to be in the midst of the action all weekend), then camping at the venue is the choice for you. Guests can camp at Caswell farm from Friday to Sunday. Guests can arrive to the site after 12 pm on June 28 and depart by 12 pm on June 30. The venue is open to tent camping only (no RV’s). If you are not able to bring your own gear, we will have rental options posted below (coming soon).

Gear Rentals

We are looking forward to a weekend with all of you and would love for everyone interested in camping to be able to! Maine GearShareMaine GearShare is a great local resource for gear rental. If interested in renting gear, they have asked that you consider booking earlier than later to ensure availablility. You can go to <a href="https://www.mainegearshare.org/public-rental" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">this link</a> to rent your gear. We will help facilitate gear pick up and drop off to the venue, so please let us know if you plan to go this route. Kit LenderIf Maine GearShare no longer has availability, feel free to use <a href="https://www.kitlender.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">KitLender</a>. They deliver gear though mail, so we recommend sending your gear to Anne and John's house, and similar to the above, we will make sure your gear is brought to the venue for Friday. You can have your gear shipped directly to Anne and John Geissinger's house (contact Emilie if you'd like to do this), and they will have the gear dropped off at the camping area the Friday of the wedding.

Can I bring my own alcohol?

Important: Please do not consume your own alcohol while the open bar is ongoing at the venue (Friday night until 9 pm and Saturday night until 930 pm).
