Our Wedding

Our friendship started early on during our freshman year of college. We don’t actually remember how we met, other than the fact that we were close friends from the very beginning. Fast forward to our junior year: many of our friends were studying abroad that fall and we suddenly began to spend most of our time together. It was during our standing weekly lunch dates at The Pickled Peach where feelings began to develop. In January of that year, Logan asked Emmie out, and we made it three dates in before she ended things in fear of losing her best friend.&nbsp; Upon graduation from college, we both independently started jobs in Durham and reconnected. We began to attend the same church and frequently got meals together. This led to all of Emmie’s friends interrogating her to find out who the "church boy" could possibly be. Finally in March of 2020, Logan asked Emmie out on another first date, but had to scrap all of his plans when the world shut down. Instead of tablecloths and candles at a restaurant, we had a truck bed and takeout. Over the next several months, we spent most of our time cooking together, streaming movies at home, going on hikes, and growing to love the city we lived in—and each other! As summer of the next year got closer, Logan knew it was time to get a ring. However, there was another wrench in the plans. Logan had to sit on the ring for over two months because of an unexpected surgery that literally prevented him from getting down on one knee. Once Logan was able to walk, he convinced Emmie that she needed to take time off from grad school to get out of town for a break. So, we went to Davidson for the day to meet up with some friends from Charlotte. After sitting in the car together for two hours, Logan was down on one knee within minutes of arriving in Davidson. He popped the question on Emmie’s favorite pathway on campus and we were able to celebrate afterwards with some of our dear friends and family. We are so excited to get to celebrate with all of our people in May!

There is lots to do in Davidson on a Saturday! You can grab a cup of coffee from Summit and walk around the farmer's market, get brunch at Toast or The Egg, explore the shops on Main Street or take a walk on campus. We highly recommend going to Milkbread or The Pickled Peach for lunch!
