Their story began when meeting at a restaurant in Norton, MA. Emily was a waitress while Zach had been going there since college with his friends. Zach was interested in Emily and asked another employee that he knew about her. One night, he left his number for Emily on the back of his bar tab (yes, they still have it hanging on their fridge) and although it took Emily month's to reach out to him, they ended up finally hanging out. A few months later, when Zach asked Emily to be his girlfriend, she responded "maybe." Zach knew she was "the one" since the first day he met her and says that he started saving for an engagement ring the second he saw Emily. On Emily and Zach's three and a half years, it was a typical December day. We started the day off by going to TJ Maxx which is one of Zach's favorite things to do. When they got home, they planned to decorate their Christmas tree together as they do every year. Before they started, Zach went into the other room and brought out a present bag for Emily. Emily took the bag from Zach thinking it was just an early Christmas present because they are both terrible at waiting until it is actually time to give gifts. When Emily opened the bag, there was a pouch, of course she dropped it. When she picked it up and opened it, there was a glass ornament that said "Our first Christmas engaged 12/05/2020." When Emily looked down, Zach was on one knee and asked her to marry him. Her first response was "are you sure?" Shortly after, of course the answer was yes!
