If we ever told you that we met at a bar, I'd like to apologize for lying to you. I mean, technically, we DID meet at a bar. BUT we connected for the first time on Tinder. Ah yes, a modern romance, a timeless tale... We both swiped right sometime in February of 2016.

Logan and I texted for over a month after that before I agreed to go out with him. After all, he could have been a crazy murderer (thankfully, he wasn't). We met at a bar in downtown Fort Worth called The Flying Saucer for our first date. My first impression of Logan in person was that he was extremely smart, funny, and thoughtful. At one point, we talked about handwriting (note: his is terrible, mine is decent), and he wrote on one of the paper menus, "I am on a date with the most beautiful girl." We stayed for hours and chatted over drinks before we finally left for the evening. I remember being embarrassed because I had parked so far away from the bar (thanks, downtown), but Logan walked me all the way to my car. I was so smitten that our second date was just two days later at Billy Bob's; we country-two-stepped all around the dance floor until the early hours of the morning. Two short months after that, Logan officially asked me to be his girlfriend.

We continued seeing each other as often as humanly possible, with Logan living and working about 45 minutes away from my college apartment, where I was living while finishing my senior year and completing my student teaching. When graduation rolled around in May, and I went home to Omaha for the summer, it was a challenging three months of long distance. However, when I moved into my own apartment to start my teaching career in August, Logan was right there beside me. And that's where he's been ever since.

Logan has been there throughout my entire teaching career, my many personal health challenges, dog parenthood, joys, honors, sadness, celebrations, and at the beginning and end of every day. He has been a strong man in every storm I've faced since I was 21 years old, and my number one fan cheering me on for every victory. We have grown together, challenged one another, supported each other, and, most importantly, loved each other every step of the way.

In 2025, we will celebrate our ninth dating anniversary in May before we get married in June. I am so thankful for the little life we have built, and I can't wait to see what we do in our next chapter as husband and wife!
