Because Christ is always first, the biggest thing to know about us is that we are both Christians. We both know that the Lord brought us together, and that He will continue to lead and guide us throughout our lives together. We are so thankful for such an incredible God who is so good to us!
Emily is from Knoxville Tennesse, but currently lives and works in Clarksville TN (North of Nashville). She has one sister Erika, who is an attorney and lives with her husband Blake in Franklin KY, and her parents live in Knoxville. Emily works as an Electrical Engineer at a tire plant in Clarksville. She has the most adorable little puppy Addie, who loves and actually favors Carver (Not Cool, Right?). Emily loves puppies and most animals, and one day hopes to have a bunch of dogs.
(Robert) Carver is from Mount Juliet Tennessee, and currently lives and works in Nashville TN. He has one sister, Caroline who is a freshman at Tennessee Tech, and his parents live in Mount Juliet. Carver not only works as a mechanical engineer at an engineering firm in Nashville, but is also a combat engineer in the National Guard. Carver is a hardcore cannon aficionado and enthusiast, and one day hopes to own a cannon.
Both: Graduated from Tennessee Tech in Engineering (Yes at the same time, No we didn't meet there)
The short story of how we met is that the Lord moved mountains and brought us together in the exact time and place according to His will. And that Carver is really cool.
The long story of how we met:
2013-2017: As soon as I (Emily) started going to Tennessee Tech and for years following, Carver's uncle Allen (who is in my family's Sunday School class) started telling me about his nephew Carver who also goes to Tech, and that he's just the coolest thing that has ever walked the Earth (Yes, he is). Unfortunately, we never met at Tech, even though we were there at the same time, and shared an engineering building and study room.
December 2016: Carver graduates from Tech and goes to BOLC (Army Officer training)
May 2017: I graduate from Tech and go to work for tire plant in Clarksville
In August 2017: Carver Returns from BOLC, and Carver does not have a job. My company is looking for a mechanical engineer, and Carver's uncle Allen tells Carver to send me his resume. We email back and forth a couple times, yet my company stops hiring and Carver does not get the job. Carver explains it as from emailing with me, he just felt so drawn to me, and wanted to get to know me, but it never progressed after the job was closed.
January 2018: On my birthday, I see on Facebook that Carver got a job, so I send him a message on Facebook congratulating him and asking him about his new job. We talked all day about jobs, life, and Christ. I had never seen someone talk about their faith the way he did. I kept thinking, how this is the exact kind of guy I want and that I would be so lucky for the Lord to bring me a guy like this. The next morning Carver sends me a message saying it was nice to talk to me, and that if I'm ever in Nashville he would like to meet me, and I say if you're ever in Clarksville, I would love to get together.
Yeah, so that never happened considering I only was ever driving through Nashville with Addie (my puppy) going to Knoxville, and Carver was never in Clarksville.
April 2018: The week before Easter, I just had a weird feeling that something was going to happen. I figured Carver was going to be in town and at church on Easter with his family. Then the night before Easter, I had a dream about Carver (who I still had never met at this point). So from my dream, I was fully expecting to meet Carver at church...but that didn't happen. Carver was also looking for me at church, we both left confused and disappointed. On the way to their Easter lunch, Carver told his Aunt Jill that he was expecting to meet me but he didn't, and she encouraged him to message me and ask me out. And he did. We went on our first date 5 days later and have been crazy about each other ever since.
