We met unexpectedly in 2018 when our mutual friend Becca brought us together for lunch and drinks. We immediately hit it off and knew there was something special between us.

After six months of weekend trips between Pittsburgh and State College and Emilys graduation, we decided to pursue the relationship and move in together.

Through moves, job changes, and life's challenges we continue to build our life together.

In May 2023 we took a wonderful trip to Italy, where we spent a week touring Rome and Venice. On our last day in Rome, we wanted to see some of the last parts of the city we hadn't seen yet including the Pantheon, the Circus Maximus, and other parts of the historical city.

Towards the end of the day, Rob wanted to see the Colosseum one more time (We toured it earlier in the week). Emily, hungry and begrudgingly came to a nearby garden to see the Colosseum again. Unbeknownst to Emily, Rob had planned to propose here with a photographer ready to capture the moment and enjoy a photoshoot together to remember the moment.

Following the proposal, we enjoyed each other's company over wine, discussing the planning, the surprise, and our excitement for our future together.
