Sean and Emily first met online during Christmas break home from college in 2015. They then soon realized that their families had already known each other through the local ice house. Emily was at school in Minnesota and Sean was in West Virginia. They finally met in person a few months later, and feelings only grew from there. Being from the same hometown of Crystal Lake, they would plan to travel home on the weekends as much as they could to spend time with each other. They spent lots of weeknights on Skype, and snapchat. Long distance was tough, and they learned very quickly that if they wanted to make this relationship last, they had to put in a lot of work.
Fast forward to after Emily and Sean were graduated from college and were living back with their parents and working to save enough money for a house. With 2020 being a disaster of a year, and also having to quarantine from each other.... they were house hunting for their first place together. June 2020 they found a cute 3 bedroom ranch in McHenry IL and they closed on the house July 24th. This day was also special.... because after signing stacks of papers, they went to their new house and met up with their families to celebrate. Little did Emily know that a photo opportunity of the new homeowners would quickly end in a PROPOSAL. Sean proposed to Emily at the front steps of their new house
