Our Wedding

Emily and Josh met playing co-ed softball on a slow-pitch league for the local YMCA. Emily has never been one to play sports but joined the team with a bunch of colleagues and friends. Josh came down from Kalamazoo, MI to play with his brother who was on the same team and worked with Emily. Josh and Emily became friends the first year of softball and continued to keep in touch with each other off season. Four years later, Emily and Josh met for dinner to catch up. Seven months later Josh moved back to St. Joseph, MI and asked Emily out on a date. From that moment on Josh and Emily built memories hiking, taking Stella (Josh's German Shepherd) to the beach, cooking and baking, dreaming about the future, and spending time with each others families. Josh and Emily balanced careers, family, and Josh being gone a weekend a month with the Michigan National Guard for the first two and a half years of their relationship. In September of 2019 Josh agreed to get a puppy in a passing conversation and Emily went the next week to pick one out. They counted down the days until they could bring Stella's little sister home and give Stella a best friend and playmate. In November Josh and Emily brought home their first dog together, Maggie who fit right in with the little family Josh and Emily had. Emily and Josh became engaged on April 17, 2020 and began planning their forever together.
