We so appreciate everyone traveling from both near and far to celebrate with us! While you are here, we would love for you to experience the place we call home. Below are a handful of recommendations! If you are looking for a specific experience, please reach out to us. There is so much to do, see & our favorite... eat and drink!
Visit the iconic Space Needle! Take the elevator to the observation deck for panoramic views of the city, Puget Sound, and the Olympic Mountains. Make sure you ask Emily's dad, Scott, about his experience at the top of the Needle for a laugh.
Explore the stunning glass art creations by Dale Chihuly at this museum, located next to the Space Needle. The garden is particularly enchanting! This was one of Kelly's (Emily's mom) favorite tourist attractions.
Discover the world of pop culture with interactive exhibits featuring music, science fiction, and more. It's a fun and immersive experience for all ages! Skip Emily and go directly to Brent for any music-based questions. :)
Besides the Space Needle and Chihuly Garden, the Seattle Center also hosts cultural events, performances, and museums, including the Pacific Science Center. Be sure to see if there are any upcoming events!
Pike Place Market: Wander through Pike Place Market, known for its fresh seafood, unique artisan shops, and the famous flying fish at the fish market. Bring a pack of gum with you to contribute to the Gum Wall - a quirky and colorful wall covered in layers of chewing gum left by visitors over the years. Yum! Make sure you don't leave before seeing the 1st Starbucks and admiring the gorgeous bouquets of fresh flowers (Emily's favorite).
Explore the historic streets and hidden tunnels beneath Seattle's Pioneer Square to learn about the city's history.
Stroll along the waterfront, visit the Seattle Aquarium, and enjoy scenic views of Elliott Bay. You can also take a ride on the Great Wheel for a bird's-eye view.
Explore a diverse collection of art from around the world, including contemporary, Asian, African, and Native American art.
There is no shortage of hiking and nature in Washington. Take a day trip to nearby national parks and forests, such as Mount Rainier National Park, Olympic National Park, or North Cascades National Park, for hiking, wildlife viewing, and stunning scenery. Rattlesnake Ledge (pictured) is a well maintained, albeit busy trail about 40 miles from the venue. Emily & Brent have hiked this one together!
Take a day trip to Woodinville wine country, where you can visit wineries and tasting rooms to sample Washington's excellent wines. Pictured is Chateau Ste. Michelle - Washington's oldest and most acclaimed winery. This option is a mere 5 miles from the venue. Brent & Emily tend to lean towards a Pinot Noir or a Grenache blend. However, if you need a wine recommendation at the wedding look no further than Travis Eaton, Brent's brother. Travis never steers us wrong!
