They say it’ll happens when you least expect it, and that saying couldn’t ring more true in our chance meeting. However this meeting was more than a chance, it was all God’s doing. It was a very warm Friday afternoon in July when Emily received a ping on her Rover app requesting drop-in visits for two cute little kitties: Betty White &amp; Black Betty. She looked at the location of the request and while normally wouldnt take requests that far away, something told her to respond and take the meet and greet. She took the chance, on a profile without any picture and drove down several windy roads to Sharpsburg. From the minute they met, she knew this was something special; that little good feeling you get in your tummy that just tells you this will be ok. What was supposed to be a quick 20-minute meet and greet to go over the Betties needs, turned into a 2-hour conversation about work and life, loves and likes. Over the next week while Kevin was on vacation with the family, they continued to text, that went far beyond just normal pet sitter to owner updates. At the end of the week, Emily left a loaf of home-made banana walnut bread (since a way to a man’s heart is through his stomach) and the amount of one (1) visit as she was unable to make it down to the house for a multiple visit one of the days. When he arrived home, he was surprised that someone would be honest enough to leave a refund and said that she had a “beer tab” and to let him know when she wanted to go out for a drink. Two and a half weeks later on a warm August evening, they went on their first date to Thick n Thin Brewery on its opening day. They talked for 4+ hours until they closed the bar down. And Emily knew at that moment her life would never be the same.
