We met in 2021, although we had been hearing about each other for years. Tim's sister Katie thought we were both "one in a million", however Tim lived in Texas, and Emily lived in Minnesota. So when Tim moved home to work on his start-up company Katie made it her mission for us to meet. The only time that worked was during a welcome home party being thrown by Tim's friends. With his friends urging, he left the party to meet Emily at a party across town.

In true Katie fashion, she got distracted when entering the party, and never formally made an introduction. However, Tim built up the courage to talk with Emily, and we hit it off immediately.

The conversation covered parasitic ways to get rid of spider-mites, the power of AI, and ended with Emily kicking his ass in basketball. And the rest was history.
