Like many great modern love stories, ours began online—right in the middle of a global pandemic. While the world slowed down, something between us sparked and grew quickly. From the very beginning, our friendship felt effortless. We were exactly what the other needed in that strange and uncertain time: someone to talk to, laugh with, and just be with.

We had never met anyone who made us feel so at home, who could make us laugh the way we made each other laugh, or who brought so much joy into the everyday. It didn’t take long before we both knew—this was something special.

After what some might call a very extended courtship online (we like to say we were just building suspense), Emily made the leap and moved to Ohio to be closer to Benjamin and take the next step in our story together.

Since then, we’ve grown in love, in laughter, and in faith.
