Emily:

We both Matched on Catholic Match, a dating app. I saw Matthew's profile, and ended up liking it first. All of the responses on his profile were thoughtful. And his eyes looked so kind and intelligent. We had the shared experience of just having converted to being Catholic, and we had both moved to Tennessee from another state.

Matthew:

I remember getting the notification on my phone that someone had liked my profile. I went on Emily's profile and was immediately struck by her cute smile and eyes. I could tell that she liked outdoor adventures and baseball, like me, from her hiking pictures wearing her signature cubs hat.

Emily:

After we connected, we would send these thoughtful messages back and forth that were often paragraphs long to get to know each other. I still remember the feeling of excitement I got each time I received a new message from him. Matthew asked me to go out for coffee on our date (which ended up being the only time I've ever seen him drink coffee).

Matthew: Emily still says I took her too coffee to trick her into thinking I liked coffee. I didn't know it at the time but Emily loves her coffee and I have always not been the biggest fan of the substance. :P Despite our difference of opinion on coffee. We fell in love with each other through our shared love of Jesus, family, outdoor adventures, games, and spending quality time together.

Who made the first move?

Emily made the first move on the app, but Matthew asked her out. :)

What's was our most memorable date?

Dancing at The Cove and then talking until late at night sitting lakeside on the bench swing in the moonlight. The Cove ended up being where Matthew proposed.

What is your favorite thing to do together?

We love to play games, go hiking, and we also both love quality time and talking (we can talk for hours sometimes).

Where are you going for your honeymoon?

We are going to go to Orlando together. It's the perfect compromise of baseball and spring training for Matthew and for Harry Potter world for Emily.
