Emily and Kevin's love story began when Emily, who was living in Oklahoma, and Kevin, who was living in Colorado, met at the wedding of mutual friends (shout out Chloe and Tyler)! Emily had heard about Kevin's love for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles through Chloe and was instantly intrigued. After dancing the night away, they exchanged numbers and Kevin chuckled as he added “EmoftheRings” on snapchat the next day.

After three months of texting, their connection led Emily and Kevin to their first date at a pizza parlor in Tulsa. A month after that, they enjoyed their second date on a ski slope in Breckenridge, where they decided to make their relationship official. Emily and Kevin dated long-distance, each taking turns traveling to the other. They shared many adventures together, from seeing buffalo in the Tallgrass Prairie Reserve to camping in Rocky Mountain National Park. They even summited mountains together! Kevin helped Emily summit her first 14er, Mt Bierstadt, and in return Emily took Kevin to the popular Turkey Mountain in Tulsa with an elevation of 804 feet.

Their commitment to making the relationship work was evident, as they alternated between Oklahoma and Colorado for a year and a half before Emily decided to join Kevin in Denver. Now together in Denver, Emily and Kevin made even more traditions: Emily introduced Kevin to the joys of facemasks and Kevin got Emily hooked on adding to his Lego collection. They began traveling to new destinations together, going everywhere from Grand Tetons to Hogwarts. While the pair traveled all over the country, Kevin saved the biggest surprise for Emily back in Tulsa.

Kevin had begun thinking about his future with Emily and schemed with Emily's friends to ask her to marry him, leaving her speechless. After her ecstatic "yes," they celebrated with friends and family, launching into wedding planning this unexpected party.
