We met during our Freshman year orientation at Colorado College. Our orientation groups were camping in the same area, and we became friends.

After COVID caused an abrupt end to our sophomore year (Kyle was sent home from CC with the rest of the students and Emily almost got stranded in Tanzania while studying abroad), we discovered we were both in the small group of students that were allowed to be on campus in the fall of 2020. We reunited and started spending lots of time together!

We hiked our first 14ers together (Mt. Bierstadt and Mt. Evans). We started dating shortly after

Throughout the rest of our time at CC, we went on countless hikes, camping trips, and other adventures

We graduated from Colorado College!

We moved to Denver and spent another year in Colorado. Kyle taught 6th grade English and Emily worked in a law firm while applying to law school

We moved to Palo Alto. Kyle teaches 5th grade English and Emily is attending law school

Kyle proposed! And Emily said yes!
