What should I wear?

We want you to be comfortable at our wedding! The dress code is dressy casual attire. For this time of year in Texas, may we suggest the following attire: Women: sundresses, lightweight separates and flats or wedge heels for the outdoor ceremony. Men: light dress shirt with dress jeans, khakis and jacket or other lightweight slacks; jackets and ties optional. Please keep in mind that the ceremony will be outdoors.

Are gifts required?

No! We are asking a lot of our guests to come all the way out to Hill Country to celebrate us, and your presence is gift enough! If you are willing, we will happily receive from you, but please do not feel obligated.

What if there's a gift I'd like to give that's not on the registry?

Please reach out to us and ask first! We both already have so many items that we need and want, and we will be moving into quarters too small for what we already own! Because of this, we need to be very particular about what we receive. It would be heartbreaking if a gift was given that we couldn't use because there was no room or need for it. Ultimately, the biggest needs and wants we have are the Honeymoon and Wyrmwood table funds on the registry.

Why Hill Country Texas?

Our hope for this weekend is for you to have a quiet retreat and a good time, in a place that is precious to us. This region boasts of beautiful scenery, many outdoor activities, as well as some well-known resorts, restaurants and small town charm. We invite you to stay and enjoy your time here!

In fact, we encourage you to make a weekend of it! Plan with friends, hike at Garner State Park, read by the river...whatever you need to enjoy a couple days of peace and rest.

Where is the Wedding

Our Wedding will take place at Moon Shadow Haven in Mountain Home, TX a small town 1 hour 15 minutes North West of San Antonio. This region of hill country Texas holds incredible significance to us as a couple, and we welcome all of our friends and loved ones to enjoy this area of rest that we cherish so dearly.

Can I bring my firearm/concealed carry?

NO. Our venue have VERY strict rules about this. If it is discovered there are any firearms on the venue property at any time, our contract will be VOID, and we will be immediately kicked out. With no refund. That would be very sad. Please be considerate of this and do not bring any firearms.

Will there be alcohol?

No, unfortunately, it simply didn't make sense in our budget to provide a bar. But we are going to get HYPE anyways! Please do not bring/hide your own alcohol, as the venue has strict rules about alcohol on property only being legally provided by a pre-approved, contracted, hired bartender. We could be in a lot of trouble if any is discovered.

Will the reception have dancing?

Yes! We want to have fun with our friends and party! Be ready to give it your all on the dance floor! For those who don't love dancing or want to be able to have some quieter time for conversation, our venue has plenty of lovely outdoor space to enjoy.

What's there to do in this region?

We're big fans of resting by the river (or floating, if we're brave enough to face the cold!), going to Garner State Park for hiking and hammocking, enjoying local cuisines, going to antique shops, and spending time with friends. Kerville has boutiques, museums, a nature center, many trails and parks. You can even find horseback riding! There's much to do and explore in this beautiful region.
