Michael and Emily met on the stroke of midnight December 31, 2016. Both happened to be ringing in the New Year at Nativ in downtown Denver. Michael was in the VIP section with his group and Emily was downstairs on the dance floor, of course. She was on the verge of leaving the club until her prince came and rescued her. Michael saw Emily as he stepped off the stairs onto the dance floor as the countdown began. They both looked into each other's eyes and knew they were each other's midnight kiss.

They kissed and didn't leave each other's side the rest of the night. Emily left Michael a sweet note that he woke up to and the rest was history.
