Emily and Jason have been going to the Sussex County YMCA for over a decade while never running into each other. The first Full Moon of 2023, Emily and Jason both went to the YMCA on a Friday night to relax in the sauna, unknowing they were about to meet their future spouse (in said sauna).

The couple had their first date at Angry Erik’s Brewery in Newton, NJ and the couple quickly fell for each other.

The following year was filled with day trips, meeting new friends and family, and moving into a new apartment together.

The couple’s relationship took the next step when Jason proposed to Emily on May 1st, 2024. Emily was so excited, she shoved the beautiful diamond ring onto her finger without a second thought. Twenty to thirty seconds later a color resembling a tomato took form in the skin surrounding her now engagement ring. After exhausting every trick in the book.. (yes, they tried floss) the couple resigned themselves to the fact that there are no take backs in real life.

The couple is looking forward to spending their engagement doing the things they love including traveling, going to the YMCA, biking, and exploring.
