Chris and Emily met on, not one, but two dating apps. The first time they swiped right on each other was December of 2018. The second time they matched was exactly (to the date) one month later on a different app, but this time Emily had to make the first move! She sent "howdy" and the rest was history. This is a photo of Chris and Emily's first fraternity date function before they had officially started dating.

At the first date function Chris and Emily went to, Chris asked Emily if she was free Thursday night... not knowing Thursday night was Valentines Day and she had already made dinner plans months prior with her best friend and roommate Julia. As a compromise, Chris cooked a romantic dinner at his fraternity house on February 13th, then asked her to be his girlfriend after her dinner on February 14th. Flowers, candles, twinkle lights and fireplace video on the tv were all included that night. No details were spared, except for the timeline.... Chris had Emily sit in his room upstairs while he made dinner, because he wanted it to be a surprise. The only problem was that Chris had already spent two hours cleaning potatoes, had not officially cooked anything and didn't know there wasn't gas for the grill. As chaotic as this first official Valentines Date was, this is one of Emily and Chris' favorite memories.
