We recommend renting a car—either individually or with a group—as the North Shore is about an hour’s drive from the airport. Rideshares and public transit are limited in this area, so having your own transportation is the easiest way to get around. That said, once you’ve arrived at the Ke Kiki Beach Bungalows, you may find there’s no reason to leave—everything you need is right there: the beach, the views, and good company.

We recommend stopping at Costco or Target on your way from the airport to the North Shore—it's a great way to save money and avoid extra trips during your stay. For anything you need once you're settled, Foodland is just a 13-minute walk (0.6 miles) from the Ke Iki Beach Bungalows and is known for having some of the best poke bowls and sushi around. Each bungalow includes a full kitchen, perfect for guests who’d like to cook or stock up on snacks during the week.

While the Ke Iki Beach Bungalows are our recommended choice, there are other lodging options available on the North Shore, including a limited number of Airbnbs and hotels. Staying in Waikiki or Honolulu is also possible, though keep in mind it’s about an hour’s drive to the North Shore. Please reach out to us if you need help finding somewhere to stay!

If you’re traveling from afar, we hope you take the opportunity to make this trip a true vacation. We’ve reserved the Ke Iki Beach Bungalows for our friends and family from Tuesday, June 2nd through Sundayday, June 7th. If we were you, we’d consider staying longer! You might also enjoy mixing it up by spending part of your trip in Waikiki to experience a different side of the island.
