It all began in the middle of Covid of March 2020. Travis was studying abroad in Australia, finishing off his senior year of college when he was sent home early due to the restrictions of Covid. Travis was bored in his parents basement when he decided to direct message Emily on Instagram “You are an inspiration” to a photo that she posted on her story of a little boy she sponsors in Africa. Keep in mind these two have been following each other on Instagram for 5 years. Emily was about to block Travis, but decided to take the leap and get to know who this man was all about. Their first date was at Emily’s apartment where they made enchiladas. Travis ended up staying 6 days straight which would lead to the rest of their lives.

2 weeks into meeting each other, Emily flew to Florida to see one of her best friends. Travis decided to buy a ticket and surprise Emily.

2 months into their relationship, Travis and Emily drove 22 hours to Glacier National Park before Emily began perfusion school. This is still their favorite trip they have been on together to this day.

Just after 6 months of dating, Emily and Travis move in together in Iowa City where Emily is in perfusion school, and Travis gets the perks of working from home!

Travis surprised Emily with a trip to Miami to celebrate Emily’s birthday, their 1 year anniversary, and to relax before Emily began clinicals.

After Emily completes school, she accepts a job in Las Vegas to begin her perfusion career. It was the peak of the covid housing market when they bought their first house, but got lucky on this one!

It was Christmas Eve in Red Rock National Park where Travis decides to get down on one knee and propose to Emily! Fortunately, their entire family was there to celebrate! Now it’s time to get married!!
