Although Emily attended Valley View and Ben went to Southview for middle school, they remained close friends. Their friendship blossomed through regular Skype video chats, hanging out at their sisters' soccer games, and, of course, running into each other at the hockey rink.

Throughout high school, Ben and Emily remained close friends, though some might argue there was always a "spark" between them.

After college, Ben moved into a house in Mound, MN, with Hunter Olson and Pat Dee, while Emily was living at home with her parents. They would often bump into each other on weekends and gradually started chatting again.

Emily sent Ben a birthday text, and in response, he asked if she’d like to meet up at a brewery near his house to hang out and catch up.

That brewery date rekindled the spark between Emily and Ben. Having had time to grow and mature as individuals, they began going on more dates and spending a lot of time together from that point on.

Emily and Ben have continued to create beautiful memories as a newly engaged couple. The best part? Their adventure together has only just begun!
