Kason and Emily's love story began when they met in an education class at Tennessee Technological University in the fall of 2018. They were classmates for the next year. They lost touch in the craziness of the last semester of college and no longer had classes together. They both graduated with their bachelor's degrees from Tennessee Tech in May 2019.

Kason reached out to Emily over Instagram asking where Emily was teaching. He asked for her Snapchat and the rest is history.

They became excellent friends and talked pretty much constantly throughout the day. At the time, Kason was working at SAC in Putnam County and Emily taught high school biology in Dekalb County. They really bonded over the struggles of real adulthood after college.

They hung out for the first time when Emily invited Kason to come to a Dekalb County football game. They began to spend more time together after that and started dating officially on September 27, 2019.

Kason and Emily love golfing, going to sporting events, puzzling, traveling, eating out (especially a good steak), and going to other people's weddings. Doing these things together Kason and Emily has made many funny, heartfelt, and unique moments that have defined who they are as a couple and made their relationship stronger.

They continue to fall deeper in love with one another every day and are constantly pushing one another to be the best version of themselves. Over the course of their relationship, they have remained each other's best friends and biggest cheerleaders. In 2022, Kason started teaching PE and coaching football at DeKalb County. Kason and Emily now are both high school teachers working every day together. Kason and Emily both graduated with master's degrees at the end of the 2023 school year.

Kason popped the question on the couple's annual Sevierville trip to visit their close friends in the mountains. The couple was in downtown Sevierville looking at a Christmas light display.
