Mike's Version:
I met Emily when I was going to Medical School at Creighton University in Omaha, NE. However, we did not meet in Omaha. I was visiting some friends from college back in Minneapolis over my Christmas break and was all decked out in my ugliest Christmas sweater for a party. After the party was over, some of my friends and I decided to go out to Stella's bar in Uptown Minneapolis for some more drinking and dancing. We were all obviously looking very sharp on the dance floor with our ugly sweaters on and our slick dance moves. I remember looking up across the dance floor and a girl was staring at me. She started to shimmy her way over to me, pointing at me the whole way. Imagine someone doing the "Walk like an Egyptian" dance while gliding across the dance floor in your direction. It was magical. We danced the night away and when we parted ways I never expected to see this beautiful creature again. Two days later I received a facebook friend request from Emily Goff. She had tracked me down using my University of St Thomas Class of 2015 facebook page and some expert sleuthing skills. We then exchanged phone numbers and stayed in touch virtually. We met up in person one more time that Christmas break before I returned back to Omaha. We then continued to stay in touch and despite my best efforts to forget about this girl I had just met, we started to drive back and forth between Moorhead MN where Emily was attending college and Omaha NE. We were able to see each other almost every other weekend. The rest is history! Now we are living together in SLC Utah with our mischievous dog, Stella. We can't wait to celebrate with you all in June 2022!
Emily's Version:
I met Mike at a bar while home over Christmas break. I had returned home early from Concordia College in Moorhead to spend some quality time with a friend who had graduated the year before. We were having a ladies day and decided to extended our fun into a ladies night. Our destination for the night: Stella's. Which just so happens to be my favorite bar in uptown.
As my friends like to say "All roads lead to Stella's." Because no matter how many times we try and go to other bars, we'd always end up back at Stella's. Of course one of my favorite parts of the bar is their dance floor. So after getting a couple drinks and hanging with some of our other college friends we decided to bust a move. I remember being on one side of the dance floor and looking across the space to see a tall, brown haired, handsome man looking at me. Slightly intoxicated me decided to take a move out of my dad's book (He stuck his tongue out at my mom while she was on the dance floor - that's how they met) and "dance" my way over to this boy. I must have impressed him pretty good because we danced the rest of the night together. After parting ways with only his first name. I dug on Facebook until I finally found him on his St. Thomas class page. We chatted, and met up one more time over Christmas break. Then we parted ways staying in contact over the phone. After a couple months of talking, Mike finally gave in and we started swapping weekends to drive to each others houses. Now we are living an adventurous life together in SLC, Utah with our pup, Stella ;) I'm so excited to celebrate our wedding with you and look forward to see you in June!
