Emily and Andrew met in the most romantic setting: the campaign trail. One of the first things Andrew said to Emily (while both were attending a political conference) remains one of the most romantic sentences he's ever said to her: "Oh, I know you from Twitter!"
Campaign events led to "networking dinner and drinks", which eventually led to regular dinner and drinks, and train rides through the Lancaster countryside.
For three years, Andrew and Emily made long distance feel like no distance. During federal law enforcement training, a quick five-hour drive became 6-hour round-trip flights. Nevertheless, distance never kept the two apart!
On March 15th, 2025, as federal training was winding down, Andrew planned to pop the question. He had the ring, he had Emily's friends and family in place, but...Andrew didn't have the "perfect moment" timed out. As the group traversed from location to location on St. Patrick's Day in Pittsburgh, Andrew led Emily to a bench in the North Shore, right near where they had first spent time together. Sporting a festive Bud Light shamrock necklace, Andrew asked Emily to marry him. The rest is history!
