Emily and Josh's journey began in 2019 as sophomores attending Florida Gulf Coast University. Both lived in building 8 of The Reef apartments, Josh on the 2nd floor and Emily on the 3rd. It wasn't until September 26th that they would meet while at a bonfire with friends. The two became friends, but, to Emily's surprise, Josh had a crush on her since the night they met. On January 5, 2020 they began dating; their first date was to see Frozen 2.

They have been together ever since, finishing college together in May of 2022. After college the couple moved up to Jacksonville to begin their careers. On September 2, 2023, in between rows of GoldRush apples, Josh finally got down on one knee and asked Emily if she would marry him. She was so surprised she dropped the ring, but she said "yes"!
