Q + A

What is the address of the venue?

Ash Barton Estate, Ash road, Braunton, Devon, EX33 2NP

Where can I stay?

There are a few options to choose from. Please read below!

Option 1- Stay onsite! (Bring your own kit)

You can camp onsite at Ash Barton, meaning that you will be around for all of the events and won’t need to arrange transportation on any of the days. There are great facilities at Ash Barton so you will still be able to get ready with proper showers and electrical sockets. You can set up your own tent or if you have a van, you can park it there.

Option 2- Hire a beautiful teepee

This is our favourite option. We have spoken with a company who will set up a beautiful glamping teepee for your stay at Ash Barton. The package includes a fully furnished teepee which will be set up before your arrival. PRICES 4m Bell tent (2 people) £200 for all 3 nights without bedding or £235 with bedding 5m tent (4 people) £250 for all 3 nights without bedding or £320 with all bedding. If you want to have a look the company is called Native Bell tents.

Option 3- Stay offsite

There are also lots of hotels and B&Bs nearby and the best place to get info on those is via the Ash Barton website itself, under event suppliers and accommodation. You can also use Airbnb.com where you will find many local and well priced options. Much more on offer there than on booking.com! We would suggest trying to stay in either Braunton or Saunton. www.ashbarton.com

When is the actual wedding day?

Our wedding is on Tuesday 23rd July but you are invited to join us on Monday 22nd for an informal (and not too late!) evening up at Ash Barton ahead of the big day. The day after the wedding will see a slow start and an ease in to party day 2! We’re hoping for good weather to enjoy a pool party with games and lots more fun! ☀️🍹

Are children invited?

We hope you won’t be sad about this but no. A few, very close family relatives will be invited but we don’t feel it’s going to be a particularly child friendly event and we’re limited by the venue’s capacity. If, however, this is going to cause a very big problem for you, please get in touch with us.

Can I bring a plus one?

This is no small wedding but it has taken a long time to get our numbers to where they need to be. Each individual guest will have their own invite but please don’t bring anyone additional who isn’t named or who hasn’t sent an RSVP.

What is the plan on the Monday (Day before the wedding)?

If you would like to join us for a very quiet drink on the Monday night you will be welcome to join us from 7.30pm. Please be aware that if you are not driving over, you must book a taxi well in advance if you are not staying onsite. If you have told us that you are camping, we will be in touch to let you know what time you can arrive to set up.

Will all three days be catered?

Please see what is provided for each day below.

Monday

Monday: There may be a few snacks but please have dinner before you arrive for the evening. Feel free to bring something to drink(alcohol or fizzy pop) as we will only have a stocked, cash bar on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tuesday (Wedding Day)

For those staying onsite, a continental breakfast will be provided. There will be some canapés in the afternoon, followed by a wedding dinner for all guests. Evening food will follow later to soak up some alcohol! There will be a cash bar in the evening(they do accept card).

Wednesday (Pool party)

Again, a continental breakfast will be provided for those staying on site. We have arranged a hog roast lunch (vegetarian options available) and there will be pizzas in the evening. Again, there will be a cash bar on site.

What time will the evening end on the Monday?

We are so excited to make the most of our time with you but in an attempt to keep heads clear and energy high for the big day we are asking you to book taxis for 10.30pm.

What should I wear for the wedding?

We are encouraging bright, bold and colourful but above all we want you to be comfortable. It may be worth noting that chunkier heels would work best as we will be on grass and on cobbles for parts of the wedding.

Where will the ceremony and reception take place?

All wedding events will be held onsite at Ash Barton Estate, including the days either side of the wedding.

When should I arrive if I’m staying on site?

Please arrive any time after 4.30pm if you are staying on site. If you are staying off site, the evening drinks begin at 7.30pm
