No problem. Walmart is a hop, skip, and a jump from almost all of the lodging. It also has a pharmacy. And we don’t have a shortage of Dollar Stores! Someone is bound to have what need! I do suggest you bring everything you think you’ll need, just in case you can’t find it in our area. Most of our stores close early. And we don’t have any 24hour stores. If you run into a dilemma, for whatever reason, please don’t hesitate to ask one of us for help. Someone is bound to have what you need, and willing to share!

Sort of… Some places now sell alcohol in West Union. The United Dairy Farmers in town has a decent selection of beer. Manchester has The Beverage Barn, and they sell beer, wine, and liquor. Beyond that, you will have a hard time finding the alcohol you want. Plan accordingly, because some of these places close early. We suggest bringing any alcohol you need for the weekend with you from home. That way you have what you need.

Please don’t be late. We intend on starting the ceremony at 3. We will give you a grace period of 15 minutes. Beyond that, don’t be late.. please!

Please let us know and we will do our very best to find you a place to lay your head at the end of the festivities. We ask that you be reasonable and understanding, if all of the lodging is taken. But please arrange lodging now, as not to find yourself in this position! Things go quickly this time of year due to deer hunting season. If you know you’ll be staying all weekend, go online NOW and find accommodations. There is not a close hotel or city. The closest city with lots of choices would be Cincinnati or Columbus.

Please pack a blanket or winter coat for your trip. There’s no way to predict the forecast. Better to be safe, than sorry. We will do our best to provide warm blankets and coats in the event it turns cold. The indoor venue will have heating, but it’s a barn. So it may still be chilly.

We have NO idea. We cannot predict the weather. The past four years, the first weekend of November has been t-shirt weather during the day. And coat weather at night. Bring a change of clothes. We want everyone to be comfortable.

Lodging for Adams County goes fast during the fall months. The fall foliage and deer hunting in Southern Ohio attract a lot of visitors. It’s definitely a top destination for many people. The closest lodging is at the venue. The Ville has several places to stay, each one is very nice! If you are going to choose this place, please let me know, so I can keep track of rooms-to-people. Shawnee State Park Lodge and Conference Center has a few cabins available, and they typically sleep 7 people. This place is dear to me, because I was a naturalist aide at the park’s nature center. Their facilities feature an indoor pool/hot tub, arcade, restaurant, and bar. The park also has hiking, mountain biking, and frisbee golf. And they have a year round nature center. It’s an all around family friendly place to stay! The Murphin Ridge Inn has rooms available, as well, and they are in the heart of Amish country. So there will be a lot to keep you busy if this is where you choose to stay. Beyond these places, there are quite a few Air BnB’s in Adams (and neighboring Scioto) County. As I said before, they are going quick, so PLEASE reserve something now! Most places require a two-night minimum stay.
