02.11.2022 It all began with a simple heart on Hinge... Matt was the brave person to start our first conversation at 7:05 am on a Friday morning. Conversation flowed and we quickly decided to meet up about a week later!

How it all began

02.17.2022 We met up at Wooden Ship Brewing for our first date and Matt was blown away by Emily's ability to spell his last name correctly without ever seeing it before. Our second date was 3 days later, and we haven't stopped seeing each other since then!

The first date

03.11.2022 In a dark booth at Sisyphus Brewing, Matt asked Emily "So... are we an item??" She played it cool and agreed to let him call her his girlfriend, then quickly announced to her friends and family that she had her very first BOYFRIEND!

We're official!

04.21.2022 Emily’s grandpa Don passed away 04/11/2025. Matt was incredibly supportive during this time and met her family at Don’s funeral. Shortly after that, Emily and Matt met up with her sister, Amy and her husband, David for drinks, and at that point he was officially indoctrinated into the family. 05.01.2022 Emily met Matt’s mom Debbie, sisters Megan and Jackie, and Jackie’s family (husband Tim, kids Ethan and Hannah) at a dual birthday party for Debbie and Jackie. After a rousing game of Nertz and a spirited Hamilton singalong, Emily knew she would love officially joining Matt’s family... in a few years ;)

Meeting the families

12.21.2024 Matt wanted to lean into Emilys love for Christmas and make their special day something straight out of Hallmark movie. The day started with a Christmas movie, wrapping Christmas gifts, a visit to the Holiday markets, and then dinner at The Bungalow Club, where wed celebrated our anniversary a few years prior. Midway through dinner Emily thought it wasnt going to happen, but Matt pulled a fast one and popped the question during dessert!
