This story is one that neither of us saw coming (and I know that sounds so cheesy), but it truly was the unexpected for us.
We met while living in Arizona, we had both moved there separately. I moved to go to school and Nicholas moved there for a job opportunity. Our lives would have never connected us without both of us taking a chance on a dating site to see what was out there.
Our first date was happening the night that I was flying back from Washington to Arizona and he was willing to postpone the date a few hours just so we could still go out. He waited until I got back to Tucson around 10 pm to take me out on our very first date. It was just like the movies, he picked me up in this old 1977 Ford pickup truck and took me out to a spot where the stars were on full display. He made me feel like I was the only girl in the world. Nicholas made a playlist of songs for us to dance to in the headlights of the truck. It was truly a magical moment and that is when I knew that he was different from any guy that I had met before.
As we got to know each other more, we discovered that there were a few times in our lives that we were close to coming in contact with each other. Nicholas lived in Spokane for a year during high school that was a couple of miles away from where I attended high school and lived. Then a few years later, I was vacationing in Redlands, California which happens to be less than 30 min from where Nicholas was living at the time. We were close several times in life to crossing paths, but it just wasn't the right time.
After we started dating we became very close and spent all available time together. About 6 months after dating I told Nicholas that I needed to move back to Washington and he did not hesitate to say that he was going to move with me. So we packed up and made the drive from Tucson to Spokane. About 8 months after living in Washington Nicholas asked me to marry him and now we are so excited to share this very special day with all of the people that we love.
