Carson and my story began in 2017 when we were both being wingman/woman for our bestfriends who are now married.

Before I went back to OSU for my spring semester, Karli (my bestfriend) asked me if I would come with her to hang out with Caleb (Carson's bestfriend) and his friend (Carson) at The Garage. Of course, I said yes! Who says no to their best friend when they need their wingperson?? So, I showed up to The Garage where Karli and Caleb mostly talked to each other the whole night. If you know me, you know I am not one to sit in silence... well, it's not really my thing. While Karli and Caleb got to know each other more, I started to talk to the guy across from me. It was easy. He grew up around OKC like I did, so we actually had several easy small talk topics. Naturally, we shifted to talking about Thunder Basketball at some point in the evening. And if you know Carson, that is probably why I thought it was so easy to talk to this guy and would never have guessed most people would call him introverted.

Following that night, over the next year when I came back to OKC from OSU, Karli, Caleb, Carson, and I would wind up all hanging out. And even though we would all hang out together there were always times when I would get to talk to just Carson.

As is common in relationships, Karli and Caleb started to spend more time together as a couple and the 4 of us stopped spending as much time together. Both Carson and I were busy with figuring out our next steps in life apart during that time.

In December of 2020, I went to hangout with Karli, Caleb, Gaddy (Carson's and Caleb's best friend). I learned 2 things that night. 1. Carson got a puppy. 2. Carson had always liked when we got to hangout. I was so excited to hear that! I am pretty sure I reached out to him the next day to see about setting up a puppy playdate since I had also gotten a dog in 2020. He agreed and we meet at Scissortail park to walk the dogs after the first of the New Year.

The boys got along surprisingly great and talking with Carson was just as easy as it had been before. Shortly after that, we started dating. During that time, Carson has become a prolific gardener, I finished my MA in dietetics, we have made many memories with our families, been to numerous events in OKC, and enjoyed many, many walks with our fluffy boys.

Carson proposed on Dec 16th, 2023 at Scissortail park where we re-met 3 years earlier.
