We met in high school, during the summer of 2015 at cross country practice. Emily was a freshman and Jacob was a sophomore. We became really close friends during that first year. The second cross country season arrived, and we started riding to practice together, and hanging out on the weekends. We were very close friends throughout high school and into college, but never more than that. As college continued, however, we drifted apart.

A few years went by without us talking very much. In the fall of 2021, Jacob reached out. Emily was reluctant to open up to Jacob again, but Jacob was relentless. Emily told Jacob she did not want a boyfriend during nursing school. Nevertheless, Jacob was persistent and we started dating in November of 2021.

After Emily finished nursing school, we got a dog and moved in together. January of 2024 we got another dog and bought a house in March. We FINALLY got engaged in August of 2024!
