IMPORTANT: How Soon Should I Start Making Reservations?
Several days before sending out invitations, we learned our wedding weekend coincides with the NCAA March Madness Final Four Tournament and The Valero Texas Open PGA Tour in San Antonio. We understand this may cause inconvenience due to the expected surge in demand for accommodations and flights, potentially leading to increased prices and limited availability. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and kindly urge you to consider booking your hotels and flights as soon as possible to secure your arrangements. Your early booking will greatly assist in ensuring a smoother experience for everyone involved. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we navigate through this unexpected situation together. Thank you for your support and for being a part of our special day.
Where to stay?
For those traveling to attend the wedding, we encourage people to purchase Airbnb options in the vicinity for lodging. This option is likely more affordable than hotel rooms, especially if families split a house together. It is advisable to secure accommodation in advance for your convenience. Take a moment to explore the nearby hotels, where the bride and groom are working to arrange block rates for guests.
Coming from out of state?
While we call Austin, TX our home, we suggest flying into San Antonio International Airport for the wedding festivities. The airport is conveniently located approximately 20 minutes from both the venue and the resort where we'll be staying. If you're interested in prolonging your visit and exploring Austin with us, please feel free to contact us privately. Austin is approximately 90 minutes away from the wedding venue, offering ample opportunities for additional adventures. We look forward to sharing this special occasion with you, whether in San Antonio or Austin!
What about the kids?
We kindly request that our wedding be an adults-only affair, as we believe it will contribute to a more relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for all our guests. While we love these members of our family and wish they could attend, the property is not suitable for young ones. Additionally, due to venue limitations, we are unable to accommodate the number of guests that would include everyone’s children. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to celebrating with you!
What is the weather going to be like?
Texans often jest, "If you don't like the weather, just wait a minute." April stands as one of the prime months for weather in the Lone Star State, offering warm days and cooler evenings. We advise keeping an eye on the weather forecast as our wedding day draws nearer to ensure you're prepared for any changes.
What to wear?
It's a traditional Texas wedding, y'all! We highly encourage your finest western attire. We would love to see y'all in your finest boots, bolos, cowboy hats, and belt buckles. However, the most important thing is to wear something comfortable that allows you to two step the night away with ease!
Will there be food and drink?
No Texas wedding would be complete without barbecue and ice cold beverages. Our menu will showcase two classic proteins: brisket and pulled pork, alongside comforting sides of mashed potatoes, green beans, and cowboy beans. And of course, we've got you covered with an open bar for all our guests to enjoy. Let's toast to love and good times!
Is there wedding transportation?
Your safety on the road is paramount to us as you travel to and from the wedding venue, particularly given its location in the Texas Hill Country where transportation options may be limited. While the venue staff assures us that rideshare services are available in the area, it's essential to note that our wedding's demand could potentially surpass the region's capacity. We highly recommend taking advantage of rideshare opportunities. Many rideshare platforms offer the option to schedule trips in advance, providing added convenience and peace of mind. Additionally, we encourage sharing an Uber or arranging carpools with designated drivers as responsible alternatives. Your well-being is our top priority, and we appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a safe and enjoyable celebration for all.
Is There a Gift Registry?
Instead of conventional gifts, your support towards our goal of purchasing a house will be deeply appreciated and cherished as we embark on this exciting chapter of our lives. Your generosity will not only help us achieve our dream of a home but will also serve as a lasting symbol of your love and support as we start this new adventure together.
