Our love story is very much like us: unique, fun, and full of love and laughter
Cody and Emily went to Waukesha West "together." Cody was two grades higher than Emily and claims to have seen her in the hallways (we have yet to find out of this was actually true… although he does remember exactly where her locker was ;)… maybe he did know who she was then).
Fast forward 7 years and Cody and Emily matched on Bumble, a true dating app love story (can't believe it actually works!). They talked for about a week and Emily really wanted to meet Cody in person. He said he couldn't that weekend because he was hunting with his uncles and they would schedule a time to meet up when he got back. Emily thought he was too good to be true, a total catfish, and was ghosting her! Low and behold, he texted her when they got back and they had their first date on November 24, 2018 at a Mexican diner in the parking lot of a Gold's Gym (verrrry classy, Cody!) We would continue to hang out until Cody asked Emily to be his girlfriend on February 24, 2019… the BEST. DAY. EVER. He asked her while they were both studying for their exams on a note that he passed to her… shockingly, Emily cried :).
With a lot of laughs and love in between, we eventually purchased our house on December 28, 2020, moved into our house on March 20, 2021… and Cody surprised Emily with Winston on April 3, 2021… what a crazy couple of weeks!
The Engagement Day:
Emily's dad told her (yes, didn't ask) that they were going golfing on October 13, 2021 (a Wednesday), Cody asked if he could tag along and of course she said YES! The day arrived and the weather looked to be miserable… rainy, cold, and gloomy. Emily was trying the entire day to get out of it and Cody was like NO, we are going. After Emily's dad said he couldn’t make it anymore, she really was trying to get out of it! Cody assured her that he really wanted to go and it might be the last time they could go during the season.
When they arrived to the golf course, the weather was still pretty rough, but they had fun on the course. Cody was playing one of the best times he's ever played and they were just having a blast and enjoying each other's company. When they got to the last hole and were walking on the green, Emily noticed that the flag stick was kind of sideways so she went to go fix it. When she saw that there was a wood box at the bottom of the hole, she was very confused. When she saw Cody grab the box and get down on one knee, she immediately started bawling (and blacked out so she has no idea what Cody's speech even was). They then heard the screams from the side and saw that the entire family (except Bob) was able to be there!!!! HOW AMAZING!!! ALSO CORRECTION… THE ACTUAL BEST. DAY. EVER.
Our love has continued to grow even stronger and we couldn't be more excited to solidify our love in front of family and friends! We're so excited to have you all there!
