Please get vaccinated if possible. Emily’s  father is actively going through chemo therapy.  Please help keep him healthy. 

We want to ensure guests know, drinking at high altitude will get you drunk extremely fast. 2 drinks at altitude is equivalent to 4-6 drinks at sea level. Please act accordingly and please register in your RSVP to use our shuttles if needed. To minimize risk of altitude sickness we advise guests coming from sea level to spend 1 night in Denver before coming up the mountains to Granby.

Our Wedding

John and Emily met while volunteering in 2016. Naturally Emily couldn’t miss the opportunity to show John how to tie a balloon correctly, and John couldn’t miss a chance to use Denali as Emily-bait. John and Emily had their first date a few days later and knew this was something special. After dating for two years, John and Emily moved to Sarasota together and adopted two sweet dogs together. In December of 2020 John and Emily moved to Colorado for job opportunities and to be closer to Emily’s family. These pictures are from the day we met!

Our Story

Flying In

Guests will fly into Denver International Airport. We would strongly encourage guests coming from lower altitude to spend time in Denver for a day before traveling to Granby as the elevation is about 8,000 ft. To avoid altitude sickness you may want to stay in Denver before traveling up to the mountains.

Car Rentals

Rental car prices are extremely high this year, we also recommend trying out <a href="https:" />Turo.com</a> as a result, an AirBnb for car rentals. John and Emily have used it before in Denver without any issues. Also, if you prefer to avoid renting a car you can use Home James shuttle service to get to Granby from Denver or the airport. HIKINGRocky Mountain National Park is a hiker’s paradise and is one of the best summer Winter Park activities to take part in. Here you’ll find everything from short walks through flower filled meadows, to day hikes with famous mountain lakes, to multi-day backcountry alpine routes. Cri has known Emily since she was 12 years old. Cri is married to Julia and has been able to watch Emily grow up. When we got engaged we knew there was no better person than Cri to marry us!

Angela and Emily have been best friends since high school. They frequently got into mischief together and have always had each other to turn to when life gets difficult. Angela was basically part of Emily’s family.

Kaleena and Emily met in their college sorority and were fast friends! Kaleena has always been an important person and a friend to count on no matter how hard life gets!

Colleen and Emily met during grad school while working as clinical interns at the Child Advocacy Center. Colleen and Emily slowly became friends and before they knew it, they were inseparable. There is no better friend than a counselor!

Michael is John's identical twin and womb-mate. Michael is the best friend you could ever have, never lacks a witty comment, and always encourages an afternoon beverage.

John and Drew are friends from high school that stayed in touch and traded insults through college as FSU-UF rivals. Drew's now in Nashville but they've stayed connected through all the years.

Stephen, better known as Schwartz, was John's college roommate and has always been a great friend to both John and Emily. (And a great uncle to Nala!)

Hotels & AirBnb

For hotels near the venue, there are no group rates available. However, we recommend independently booking a house or condo through AirBNB, VRBO, or staying at The Inn at SilverCreek: <a href="http:" />http://www.innatsilvercreek.com/</a> To reserve a room you have to call the Inn at Silver Creek at 970-887-2131   Fraser and Winter Park are also within a 30 minute drive of the venue with many lodging options as well.

Getting to and from the Venue

There are NO taxis, Ubers, or Lyfts consistently running in Granby. We are arranging shuttle transportation for those staying within a 20-minute drive of the venue to get to and from the venue responsibly. Parking is available at the venue, but we highly recommend taking advantage of the shuttle if you plan on drinking. Remember, it takes less alcohol to get drunk at 8,000ft.
