If you don't know this already, you're on the wrong wedding website!

Lucas and Emily met at some point in middle school, and coexisted in parallel friend groups all the way through high school. In the Fall of 2013 they both started freshman year at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. They became close friends that first year and practically lived on the 6th floor of Alden Library. They often joked that they should make a sign to put on their shared table that said "We're not together".

In the Spring of 2016, at a very drunken High Fest in Athens, Lucas and Emily shared a first kiss.

Lucas graduated a year later, and they dated long distance from Cleveland to OU until Emily moved home in December of 2018 to finish school. And then Lucas decided to move to South America for an undisclosed amount of time. He spent that time traveling, teaching English, and even found his paternal grandmother's home in Chile, but after 6 months he flew back to the States on Christmas day, and surprised his family, and Emily at the back door of her parents house that evening.

In the midst of the pandemic, they bought a house in Cleveland Heights, the house that Emily's mother grew up in. They spent time together cleaning out decades of "collecting", donating hundreds of lightbulbs, completing home improvement projects, and making it a home of their own.

In August of 2023, Emily and Lucas drove up to Maine for vacation with the Gonzalez family. They stayed at a rented lake house that Lucas' uncle had built on Green Lake in the 90s and sold over a decade ago (Lucas just happened to find it on Air B&B). Almost nothing had changed at the property since the last time Lucas had visited, nearly two decades before. One evening the two canoed onto the lake at sunset and Lucas popped the question after 7 years of dating. It really was a perfect moment in a perfect place.

And now.... here we are!

Emily and Lucas can not wait to celebrate with all their loved ones this September!
