On February 2nd, 2018 Emily was asked to go to a retirement party with her friends Carly and Sam (Jason's sister). This retirement party happened to be for Jason's dad. This was the first time Emily and Jason had met. Jason had told Sam and Carly to bring Emily to this party because he kept seeing her on their Snapchat stories. Jason kept telling his sister Sam, that he needed to get Emily's number. Jason was shy but also giddy and was very persistent in getting her number. If you know Emily at all, you know she was an avid snapper and took Snapchat information over phone numbers. Jason finally got her Snapchat and they went their separate ways. They had talked over the course of a few months and would meet each other out downtown occasionally. Spring and Summer of 2018 they started to meet up more and more downtown. Jason was known as the "guy who always bought bombs" by Emily's friends. Labor Day weekend of that same year Emily went out with a friend of hers. Her friend ended up leaving early and Emily decided to meet up with Jason that night. She and Jason spent the night hanging out one-on-one for the first time. She was a broke college student who didn't want to spend $40 on an Uber at bar close, so she told Jason she would crash on his couch. They continued to meet up on weekends. They were flirty together but kept telling people they were just friends. On October 19th, 2018 Emily had an interview with the President of the company she wanted to work for after she graduated college. Jason was the first person she called after that interview. She knew at that moment, they were no longer going to be "just friends". Emily and Jason mark that day as the day they started dating. October 20th, 2018 Emily and her Aunt Kerry were going to a 21 Pilots concert at the Fiserv. For the first time EVER, Emily decided she would let someone from her family meet a guy she was dating... FOR A DAY! Emily and her aunt went out to meet Jason after his bartending shift. Within minutes of meeting him, she looked at him and said you have the cutest dimples, then looked at Emily and said "he's a keeper". They continued to date, then went on their first vacation to Florida together, second to Nashville, and third, back to Florida. Emily decided one day during work she was going to surprise her parents and bring home a very abused, poorly trained German Shepherd (Nash). She had no clue what she was getting into. She had to call Jason on multiple occasions while she was at work because Nash would break out of his kennel. Let's just say, Jason and Nash were not friends right away. Fall of 2019, Emily's maid of honor (Chelsea) bought a house. Emily went to help her paint and within 5 hours of being there, Chelsea talked Emily into buying her own house. A month later Emily was moving out on her own for the very first time. However, she was not looking forward to living alone. It had only just been a year of dating Jason, she knew she couldn't ask him to move in already. So they worked out a plan where he would still keep his place downtown but stay with Emily and Nash most of the time. Now, as you know from earlier, Jason was not a fan of Nash. That quickly changed and the bond between them became stronger and stronger. Jason's lease was up in the Summer of 2020 and the couple decided it was time to fully move in together and be a family of three. Through all of the ups and downs of life, they stuck together and got engaged on September 30th, 2022. Emily and Jason are now looking forward to getting married and buying the house that Emily grew up in.
