It all started during the pandemic when Emily was frequently visiting her childhood friend, Cara Moore (Menzel), who lived in Burlington, NC. After several visits, Cara convinced Emily to start looking at buying property down in North Carolina. Emily made the leap of faith and purchased a home in June of 2021 and officially moved down to North Carolina in August of 2021.

Now this is the age of dating apps and Emily changed her location to North Carolina and started talking to Justin around the time she closed on her new home. To Emily's amazement, Justin didn't think Emily was a catfish. So 11 days after moving to North Carolina, Justin and Emily finally had their first date(s)! During our first date, after hours of talking and connecting, Emily joked and asked Justin if he was going to propose and I guess the rest is history!

Emily and Justin connected over their love of being creative. Justin is a mechanical engineer and graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology and Emily is an artist at heart and graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design as well as Southern New Hampshire University with a Masters in Human Resources.

Justin owns his own Design/Build Firm and you can see much of what he has done throughout High Point (basically anything cool and custom was probably made by him, ask and we can send you on a scavenger hunt!) Justin also has two wonderful creative young boys Ashland, 7, and Brennan, 9. Emily works as a Human Resources Consultant but fell in love with High Point and being surrounded by other creatives. She now has built out a ceramics studio in Justin's shop.
