Our Wedding

The story begins in April of 2022 when Emily asked for advice online regarding her upcoming family trip to Alaska and Chris (born and raised in Alaska) answered. The two found they had a lot in common. Emily was very interested in how he lived in Alaska most of the year but spent summers here in MS with his mom. The two began talking every day. They decided to meet up and the rest is history.

Chris and Emily love to go to Hattiesburg to visit the Lucky Rabbit and the Pocket Museum. On their halloween trip to the Lucky Rabbit to see the Beetlejuice exhibit, Chris said he had a surprise. He then took Emily to Red Bluff in Marion County and proposed at sunset. He said he had to add some alaskan flair to the proposal. 😂

The Proposal 

-Emily and Chris love board games, video games, and  puzzles 🧩-They both love to travel 🧳-Emily and Chris have the same music taste and early on they both bonded quickly over music. They love to attend concerts. 🎶-Emily a few times half joked to her mom she would end up with someone that was not from MS 🤣-Emily and Chris love Tim Burton movies and quickly found out that both of their favorites is Mars Attacks! 👽-They also both love Harry Potter ⚡️ 🦉 -They both love to read when they have time 📕

Chelsea and Emily have been good friends since the 8th grade.  Emily's favorite memory is when they had a girls night at junior prom! One of Emily's longest friendships. ❤️

Chris and Sean have known each other since kindergarten! They grew up together in Alaska, often skiing, running and playing hockey together, and are still in frequent communication. 🏒

The ceremony will be in the chapel/ Shelby &amp; Richard McRae Christian Center (#26 on the map). The cocktail hour and Reception will in the Kava Room which is in the Boyd Campbell College Center (#21 on map).

Directions 

From I55: Take left exit 98A toward Woodrow Wilson Avenue onto E Woodrow Wilson Ave. Go for 1.0 mi. Turn left onto N State St (US-51). Go for 0.3 mi.

We will have golf carts to take people from the chapel to the reception if needed. Millsaps is a smoke free campus. Millsaps has security.
