Emily and Wyatt first met, in the summer of 2022. The first date took place in Jasper, and they ate at The Ozark. They then ended the night by driving down to Steel Creek. It was an amazing night, they both agreed!


A month after that first date, they met the parents. Emily met Wyatts parents at the mule show. Her and Treba instantly clicked. Wyatt went over to Emilys parents house and ate burgers. He and Mike chatted all things wood and farming.


Weekends were soon spent in either Arkansas or Missouri: splitting wood, going to Bass Pro, eating Pineapple Whip, or going to Texas Roadhouse and seeing how many rolls they can eat. Tuesday started to be their night. They would meet in either Harrison or Hollister, for a weeknight date. Hurts Donuts became a regular place to finish the night off!


After a year and 3 months, Wyatt bought the ring. He made a special trip to Branson. Emily was only 10 minutes away at work, in Hollister. He looked and looked before he saw THE ring for her. He held on to it for 3 months. Waiting for the perfect time to ask Mike permission. It was after they helped Mike cut some firewood. Emily went inside and it was just Wyatt and Mike outside. Wyatt jumped at the opportunity and asked him. Mike was glad to finally hand Emily off to someone else lol.


The day finally came, Wyatt was gonna ask Emily to marry him.
Wyatt was working near Sams Throne and suggested that they take a day off and go hiking. Emily was in! They both took off on that Friday, Groundhog Day. They woke up and planned to be there at sunrise. It was a perfect morning!! Emily was looking at the amazing view before them with her back to Wyatt. He took this opportunity to pull the ring out of his pocket and get down on one knee. Emily turned around and could not believe her eyes. The easiest yes of her life!
February 2nd, 2024, is a day they will both cherish forever!! 🩵
