Our Wedding

Once upon a time, there was a young athletic trainer named Emily. As smart as she was beautiful, Emily loved her job at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where she got to work as a SWOSU athletic trainer. Emily and her Maid of Honor, Hailey Blevins, worked as student videographers for Spring football, and that's when a handsome football coach came into view. Jon, the coach, recognized Emily for the Princess she was. In the Fall of 2015 Jon's Best Man, Jonathan Darby, concocted a plan. He invited Emily to meet them at the now late, great J.C. Cowboy's for a last night out before all the athletes arrived. That was the first night that Emily and Jon started falling in love. The two juggled hectic schedules, two-a-day practices with their respective teams, and graduate classes, but still managed to make time for each other and nourish the relationship that was budding across the football field. On December 20, 2020, they will celebrate this love by becoming man and wife, and can't wait to live happily ever after.

The Coach and the Athletic Trainer: A Football Fairy Tale

After witnessing a beautiful sunrise wedding in West Texas, Jon and Emily flew out to San Fransisco for Christmas with the Garfields. Emily was under the impression that they were meeting their friends Katy and Ryan in the city for dinner before heading to San Jose, but Jon had other intentions in mind. He surprised her with a suite at the Fairmont Hotel (with some incredible help from his Uncle Jeff), one of the oldest and most beautiful establishments in all of San Fransisco. While showing her a balcony that overlooked San Fransisco Bay, Jon surprised Emily with a proposal. He offered an antique ring that Jon's late father once gave to Jon's mother, as well as a life of love, laughter, and football. Emily accepted, and the Tangier Suite of the Fairmont Hotel will forever be in their hearts.
