Chris and Emily met in 2020 in Knoxville after the pandemic brought Emily back to East Tennessee from Memphis. They quickly bonded over a shared love for the outdoors, as well as their dogs, Chewie and Louie. The couple spent many of their early dates taking long hikes filled with deep conversation.

After Emily's residency took her to Fort Worth, TX, the two remained long-distance for a year before Chris moved to Texas in 2022 and began practicing in Dallas. Travel and adventure have remained a central part of their relationship - taking them from camping in the Pacific Northwest to cooking classes in Italy.

On October 22, 2023, Chris proposed in Big Bend National Park after a day of hiking, soaking in natural hot springs, and grilling out at their campsite. Chris and Emily are excited to share their wedding celebration with their friends and family on June 22, 2024, in Sewanee, TN!
