Our story began three years ago at a Notre Dame tailgate. Emily had recently moved to South Bend, Indiana from Florida to pursue a master’s degree and Peyton was visiting from Indianapolis. Surrounded by friends, Emily and Peyton found themselves connecting in sharing stories of family and the beautiful chaos life can bring. Despite the possibility of long distance in their future, they took a chance and went on a date.

Amidst the banter from their awkward server in the quaintess in a local brewery, they found each other emerged in conversations rooted in faith, laughter, and shared dreams. From that point on, it was clear they wanted to pursue each other.

The countless weekends driving down Indiana highways to see each other, finally concluded when Emily moved to Indy for an internship. Whether they were meeting friends for ice cream or simply enjoying the city's vibrant energy, there was always something to do, and the city felt like their own little playground. They spent their Sunday mornings worshiping and praying at Immaculate Heart of Mary, followed by Peyton surprising Emily with local coffee dates. Living in Indy brought them closer to the people and places they loved, and each day felt like a new adventure.

On the sunny afternoon of September 1st, Peyton surprised Emily with a beautiful garden proposal surrounded by family. Using a jar from their one year anniversary, Peyton wrote “Will you marry me?” on hundreds of slips of paper. It was a perfect day, the beginning of a new chapter.

Our love story has been our biggest gift and blessing. We are so excited to have you witness us becoming one in Christ.
