Emily and Nick met through their mutual friend, Chase. Emily and Chase grew up together because her grandmother watched Chase when they were young.

Chase and Nick met when Chase's family moved down the street in Hopedale. Chase quickly befriended the Frost boys and they've been friends ever since. Emily visited Chase in Hopedale and got to know the Frost boys.

Both Emily and Nick were invited to Chase's younger sister's graduation party at the Mackinaw Valley Winery. Emily and Nick met up after not seeing each other for years. Nick asked Emily to be his wedding date that July. After that, they started visiting each other on the weekends.

Emily spent 4th of July weekend with Nick in Hopedale. They went to the annual parade and a pool party. Later that night, they had their first kiss.
