0n January 29, 2022, Emily and Nathan met in San Diego, CA on the dating app Bumble and quickly found out they had a lot in common!

Although they had never met, both grew up in Charlottesville, VA and attended rival high schools. Both went to the same church as kids. Emily's sister Kelsey works with Nathan's brother Zach. Emily's brother-in-law worked with Nathan's mom. Emily's dad and Nathan's dad served on a swim league board together (and have a shared obsession with Costco).

In fact, the first time Emily visited Nathan's San Diego apartment, she recognized his dad in a family photo, but she did not recognize Nathan. This was a shot to Nathan's ego, as he grew up playing sports against a lot of Emily's friends, and although he never met her, Nathan always had a bit of a crush on Emily from afar.

2,500 miles later, Emily and Nathan finally met in San Diego. They first bonded over tacos, breweries, and the Netflix show Love Is Blind. They quickly fell in love with each other and with the city of San Diego, where they met some of their closest friends.

Now ready to get married and eventually start a family, Emily and Nathan have moved back to Charlottesville, VA to be closer to family, and they cannot wait to celebrate their marriage with you May 9, 2025!
