Our Wedding

Emily and Alan first meet on November 18, 2023. Having matched on the popular dating app, Hinge, the day prior. Their first date, organized by Emily, was at “The Hub” in San Luis Obispo, during their grand opening. Two momentous occasions in one day. The city of San Luis Obispo had not been blessed like that in a while. In one of the many interviews of the beautiful couple, Alan recalls being drawn to her lively personality, amazing smile, and contagious laughter. Emily was attracted to his kind and sweet personality. She states she was excited to get to know Alan more. The night went on, with Emily and Alan sharing stories, curiosities, and laughter. As well as fierce competition from both sides in games of pool, arcade basketball, and Wii sports. Alan recording a respectable 0-5 win-loss record with the games that night, but sealing 1-0 victory and landslide win of Emily’s heart. Their story continues to this day. With Wednesday date nights, occasional cycling, field day coffee runs, Sally-Loo mornings, and shin dig cider Saturdays. We are excited to watch this lovely couple grow together in love, faith, and family. Follow us to see where their story takes them next. Claire is the actual life of the party and is the glue that holds everyone together. Emily and Claire lived together for a year from July 2022-July 2023. Over the year they lived together they grew close and everyone from the barista’s at the coffee shop they frequented to Claire’s own father would always say how much they looked like sisters. Claire is Emily’s chosen sister in life and a friendship that has blessed Emily greatly.

Francisco is one of Alan’s closest friends. Having been friends since high school, going to the same college, and pursuing the same career ( a fellow Physical Therapist!), he has been through it all. Alan’s favorite memory with Francisco is during the summer of 2022, where they spent countless hours playing and teaming up in Apex Legends, while studying for the NPTE board exam. Francisco is one of the kindest, caring, and loyal people. To be friends with Francisco is the greatest blessing.

William is a movie connoisseur (you’ve seen it? He’s watched it and knows every actor in it), king of grilling glizzys, and his go to pose is a thumbs up. William sparks joy in everyone around him with his booming laugh to the sweetest postcards that he’ll randomly send in the mail. William and Emily met in June of 2022 at a “French party” at the beloved ‘Pismo Palace’ and from there on grew to become close friends even after he moved away to Ohio.

Pulith is one of Alan’s greatest friends. He never fails to make anyone laugh, with his long list of stories from his college days. A real life of the party and a Kobe Bryant on the basketball courts (seriously he pulls off the most insane shots!). Pulith is a wholesome, and loving soul. He cares deeply for his friends and family. Alan’s favorite memory of Pulith is spent in his garage gym during COVID lockdowns, where they spent hours working out.

Kairi is the sweetest person alive (not being hyperbolic). Kairi is Alan’s youngest sister. After meeting Kairi for the first time Emily told Alan with tears in her eyes, “I have always wanted a little sister and now I have one”. Kairi is an exceptional dancer, an amazing friend, and captivates everyone in her presence.

Nael is Alan’s brother from another mother, and best friend. Nael is Alan’s first friend when he transferred from Frontier High School to California High School. After high school, they both spend the next two years at Diablo Valley College, where their bond formed as a brothers. Nael is a hardworking, passionate, and caring friend. He is someone you can always count on to be there and it is so rare to have that in life. Alan’s favorite memory of Nael is visiting Nael in Chicago, after graduating nursing school.

Nael Merza 

Susan is the most thoughtful and gracious friend that one could ask for. Emily and Susan met the summer of 2017 and became good friends the summer of 2018 while working at Hume Lake Christian Camps. The two spent an entire year living together at camp during the off season and into the summer of 2019. Susan was the reason Emily fell in love with the town of San Luis Obispo and why Emily ended up moving to SLO in 2022.

Devashish is one of Alan’s most loving and fiercely loyal friend.   The best dressed and freshest in the group. He is the person to call when getting the group chat together or hosting parties. But also someone to talk to, and add a light to your day. Dev is an amazing person with a loving heart, to know him is to be blessed. Alan’s favorite memory of Dev is visiting him in SF, after getting a condo in the big city.

Devashish Kashikar

Avery is the kindest woman around. Avery not only shines because of her outward beauty but also because of her amazing personality. Avery and Emily met at a friend group event, ‘family dinner’. For months the two would casually chat every Monday at the dinner party and then eventually the two started meeting up weekly to paint nails (due to Avery’s obsession with nail polish). Painting nails became the perfect excuse to carve out time every week to spend time with each other chatting, debriefing, and laughing about the most ridiculous things. 

Avery Barrera

Andrew is one of Alan’s best friends and most loyal gym buddy. He will never miss a workout with you, whether it’d be weight lifting in 24 hour fitness, or shooting hoops at Central Park. He has been there for it all. Alan’s favorite memory of Andrew is watching the 2020 Super Bowl at Pacific Beach, SD. Where they spent the whole day and night as true locals.

Doug is one of Alan’s greatest friends. A part of the diamond dogs. Doug, Francisco, and Alan were the trios in San Jose State University. Being part of the Pre-Physical Therapy Club, and intramural volleyball. Doug and Alan have been through it all. Doug is another close friend that you can always rely on. Alan’s favorite memory of Doug is working at the Little Hills Ranch, working as a bartender duo.

Introducing Carl, Carlito, Carlisle, Carl Malone, Carlton, Carl Landry. The one and only little brother and Alan’s first best friend. Carl has been there for Alan, since he was born. The best gaming buddy, Alan’s best memories were spent with Carl playing hours Pokémon and Super Smash Brothers. Carl is one of the most talented, kind, and loving person. Alan is proud to have him as a brother.
