From Emily's Perspective: At a bar! The organic way! In late August/early September 2017, Houston was in recovery mode after Hurricane Harvey. We had all been stuck at home as the city had curfews until the Sunday night of Labor Day Weekend. Mutual friends invited me, Emily, to Heights Bier Garten, to join them and Alex was amongst the crowd. After an hour plus of sitting next to each other at the picnic table, I realized I had asked Alex what his name was one too many time and an explanation was warranted as to why I was so distracted. My cousin Zach had just proposed to his high school sweetheart, Susannah, and I was caught up in the family group chat. Alex quickly perked up, commenting that some of his friends from high school had just gotten engaged as well! As fate would have it, we were talking about the same people. I then gave him the time of day he deserved, and accepted that I was being hit on by an actual good person - and I never asked him to remind me of his name ever again <3
From Alex's Perspective: Everything Emily said, plus we then played a game of cornhole and she sunk every shot. I haven't seen her play that well since that night though...
